Birthday -In-a Box
The Birthday in a Box program is the signature initiative of A&Y Birthday Blessings, designed to ensure that children ages 3 to 12 feel celebrated on their special day, regardless of their family's financial circumstances.
Each Birthday in a Box is thoughtfully prepared to provide everything needed to create a joyful birthday celebration at home. Boxes may include cake mix, frosting, tableware, napkins, utensils, a birthday tablecloth, decorations, age-appropriate books, and carefully selected gifts for the child being celebrated.
These boxes are more than just supplies; they create an opportunity for families to share a meaningful moment and for children to experience the excitement and recognition that every birthday deserves.
Through this program, A&Y Birthday Blessings is committed to bringing joy, dignity, and celebration into homes across Delaware, one birthday at a time.
Each box represents more than a birthday celebration; it represents hope, care, and a reminder to every child that they matter.
Community Celebrations
At A&Y Birthday Blessings, our Community Celebrations bring children together to celebrate their birthdays in a joyful and supportive environment. These special gatherings are designed for children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience a traditional birthday celebration.
Our celebrations are held quarterly throughout the year, allowing us to celebrate multiple children at once. For example, children with birthdays in January, February, and March may be celebrated together at a single community event.
We work in partnership with local shelters, transitional housing programs, and community organizations that help identify children who would benefit from participating. Families are typically referred through these trusted partners to ensure the program reaches those who need it most.
Each celebration is designed to create a memorable experience and may include:
• Birthday cake and refreshments
• Decorations and festive activities
• Games and entertainment
• Special gifts for the children being celebrated
• Opportunities for families to connect with helpful community resources

Read & Celebrate Story Time
Read & Celebrate Storytime is an engaging literacy-based program created to inspire a love of reading while nurturing children’s social and emotional development.

Through interactive story sessions, children are invited to explore books that promote imagination, confidence, kindness, and positive self-expression. Each session is designed to create a welcoming and joyful environment where children not only enjoy stories but also feel seen, valued, and celebrated.

The program combines literacy, learning, and celebration by pairing storytime with fun activities that reinforce key messages from the books. These experiences help children build important life skills such as empathy, communication, and self-confidence while strengthening early reading engagement.

During Read & Celebrate Storytime sessions, children may participate in:
• Interactive storytelling and read-aloud experiences
• Discussion and reflection about the story’s message
• Hands-on activities connected to the book

• Opportunities to take home books or literacy resources when available

Enrichment & Learning Activities
At A&Y Birthday Blessings, we believe celebration and learning can go hand in hand. Our Enrichment & Learning Activities are designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence in children while providing meaningful experiences that support their growth.
Through educational tools, activity kits, and STEM-based enrichment opportunities, children are encouraged to explore new ideas, solve problems, and express their creativity in fun and engaging ways. These hands-on experiences introduce children to concepts in science, technology, engineering, art, and critical thinking while making learning exciting and accessible.
Our enrichment activities may include:

Wraparound Family Support
At A&Y Birthday Blessings, we recognize that celebrating a child is meaningful, but supporting the well-being of the entire family is just as important. Our Wraparound Family Support approach helps connect families to trusted community resources that can strengthen stability, wellness, and opportunity.

Through our partnerships with local organizations, families may be guided toward essential services such as housing assistance, food support, counseling, educational resources, and other programs designed to help families navigate challenges and move toward long-term stability.
