Our Mission
Our mission is to bring joy, dignity, and meaningful connection to children and families across Delaware through intentional celebration experiences, early childhood enrichment, and community-based support that strengthens stability and well-being.
Our Story
A&Y Birthday Blessings was born from a God-led vision to use my gifts to serve children and families who are often underserved and overlooked. I had spent years as an event planner designing celebrations that brought joy to others, but I longed for a deeper purpose. One quiet morning, during a moment of prayer while driving to work, the direction became crystal clear: use my skills to give back to the community. My heart immediately went to children who might never experience the simple joys of a birthday, the excitement of cake, the thrill of decorations, and the magic of being celebrated.

Drawing from my own childhood memories, I knew I had to act. Through research, I discovered a few programs existed for specific populations, but none approached birthday celebration in the comprehensive, community-focused way I envisioned, blending joy, learning, and family support. Guided by this vision, I laid the foundation for A&Y Birthday Blessings in April 2025, delivering our first Birthday in a Box. Witnessing the child’s pure, unfiltered joy confirmed that this was exactly where I was meant to serve.

Since then, we have grown the initiative to provide literacy enrichment, STEM-based learning activities, and wraparound family support, connecting children and families to resources that strengthen well-being and opportunity. Every program, partnership, and decision is thoughtfully designed to meet the real needs of the families we serve.

A&Y Birthday Blessings is a community-focused initiative dedicated to celebrating children, empowering families, and creating lasting memories through joy, connection, and intentional support. We strive to ensure that every child feels seen, supported, and celebrated, and that every celebration is meaningful, memorable, and transformative.

Meet The Founder
Andrea Miller is a passionate advocate, educator, and storyteller whose life’s work centers on uplifting children, supporting families, and strengthening communities. Alongside her professional experience in counseling, social service, and program leadership, Andrea has a background in event planning, designing, and coordinating memorable celebrations that bring people together, skills she now channels to create joyful and meaningful experiences for children and families through A&Y Birthday Blessings.

She is the visionary behind A&Y Birthday Blessings, a community initiative designed to ensure every child feels special and every family feels supported. From the signature Birthday in a Box program to quarterly community celebrations, interactive storytimes, STEM enrichment activities, and wraparound family support, Andrea’s work blends celebration, learning, and empowerment. Each program reflects her belief that honoring a child can have a lasting impact, not just on the child, but on their family and community as well.

Andrea is also a wife, mother, and nana, bringing the perspective of family into everything she does. In her personal time, she loves to read, travel, and create through crafting, embracing opportunities to learn, explore, and express herself. She is also a writer and journal creator, using storytelling and reflection to inspire growth, connection, and self-expression in others.

Through A&Y Birthday Blessings, Andrea combines her professional experience, personal passion, and creative spirit to create programs that leave lasting memories, foster growth, and spread joy. She believes that every child deserves to feel celebrated, every family deserves support, and every community thrives when joy and opportunity are shared.
